Byrne-Reed House Humanities Texas
CPM Texas led the design and construction of the restoration of Austin’s historic Byrne-Reed House. This historic landmark, now owned and operated by Humanities Texas, has been meticulously brought back to its original 1900s glory with support from a project endowment by the Texas Historical Commission. The team beautifully restored the original art nouveau friezes, trim, mission-style roof tiles, Romanesque arches, and Prairie-style porches. Modern mechanical systems and improved meeting accessibility were also introduced, stabilizing the structure for contemporary use.
Today, the organization utilizes the living room, dining room, and other downstairs areas for public events, while the upstairs and attic serve as private offices. The basement has been converted into space for exhibition preparation and storage.
