Baylor Research and Innovation Collaborative (BRIC)
The Baylor Research and Innovation Collaborative (BRIC) serves as the anchor facility for the Central Texas and Technology Park, supporting science and engineering research, interdisciplinary education, and regional workforce development. Located in Waco, Texas, the BRIC project transformed a former General Tire manufacturing plant into a modern university-affiliated research center.
The renovation included extensive abatement, demolition, and new construction to prepare the facility for use by Baylor University’s School of Engineering and Computer Science, as well as interdisciplinary research centers. The 36,000 SF interior finish-out portion delivered by The Beck Group included dry labs, office space, and seminar rooms as part of the Phase 2B and Symposium areas. A new main entry and gallery space, including a “jewel box” conference room, provided a flexible and visually dynamic gateway to the larger BRIC campus.
Andrew Stauch, now with CPM Texas, contributed to the successful delivery of these elements while at The Beck Group, helping transform a legacy industrial site into a cutting-edge academic and research environment.
