RBJ Redevelopment
CPM served as the Owner’s Project Manager for the Rebekah Baines Johnson (RBJ) Center Redevelopment, a transformative, multi-phase project revitalizing a historic senior living campus along Lady Bird Lake in East Austin. Spanning approximately 17 acres, the redevelopment integrates affordable senior housing, mixed-income residences, and community amenities, fostering an inclusive, multi-generational neighborhood.
Key components of the redevelopment include:
Renovation of the existing 16-story RBJ Tower, preserving 225 affordable units for seniors.
The Weaver, a 250-unit mixed-income multifamily community developed by SSG Momark Collaborative LLC, located within the RBJ campus.
The Ladybird, a 279-unit affordable senior living community for residents aged 55 and older, developed by DMA Development Company.
Campus-wide infrastructure improvements, including new roadways, utility upgrades, pedestrian connections, and enhanced public spaces.
CPM collaborated closely with the Austin Geriatric Center, DMA Development Company, Momark Development, Southwest Strategies Group, and public partners to manage planning, design coordination, and infrastructure delivery. The RBJ Redevelopment reflects CPM’s leadership in delivering complex, mission-aligned housing solutions that strengthen Austin’s urban fabric and serve vulnerable populations with dignity and care.
